How To Stay Motivated

Hi! :)

Staying motivated is something we all need in order to achieve our goals. However, it can often be a real struggle to keep that mindset up and running. I know that based on my own experience alone. Today, I would like to let you in on some of my tips and advice for success in keeping up your motivation.

Always try!

No matter what hardships you might face along your journey, don’t give up! Keep trying! A lot of the times, we loose all our motivation when something goes wrong. However, the complete opposite of that would be the correct thing to do. If you stop trying, you’ll never achieve your goals.

One of my favourite quotes is “You only fail when you stop trying.”, and it’s so true, I can’t even emphasize it enough. Keep this in mind!

Think of your goal!

You should never forget what your first intention was! If you don’t feel like you’re heading towards being successful, just think back of what you want to achieve and the reason behind it. Be determined enough not to give up!

Never doubt yourself!

Don’t ever say that you can’t do it, because it’s not true! You can achieve anything you set your mind to, but it requires a lot of time and effort. Being negative and pessimistic won’t help you moving forward, trust me! Try to be as optimistic and inspired as possible, even in your hardest situations!

You CAN do it, the struggle won’t always be there with you! There’s always something positive at the end of the day – remember to STAY MOTIVATED! :)

How To Survive Finals

Since I’m in the middle of finals (I still have all my oral exams left), I thought it would be a great idea to give some tips on how to actually survive the exam period as I find it really tough myself, too.

  1. My first and most important tip is to sleep loads. Really, just rest a lot, because you don’t want to start your day tired and all that – you must be energized to focus on studying or during the actual finals. So sleep, please!
  2. Try to keep short breaks in between preparing for your exams, because it keeps your brain active and you won’t be exhausted very early. It helped me a lot and I only started to do this recently, because I didn’t believe that even a 5-minute break can help to be more focused on studying. But it really did.
  3. Organize the amount of stuff you want to memorize day by day, so you won’t panic a day before your actual finals. Start preparing relatively early, if you can!
  4. Prioritise! School before Youtube and books! This is one that I really struggle with, but I know I have to have school as my first priority during this period. How I manage to get things done is that I think of the summer holidays and that each day they get closer and closer. You (and I) are going to survive finals and be awesome at them!
  5. Be as optimistic as you possibly can! I am generally a pessimist and I hate that. But during exams I try to be as positive as possible, because if you believe you can do it, then it’s already a half win. The other half is up to how hard you study for finals. If you’re confident, you’re more likely to achieve a better performance – and just think about: You did everything you could up to this point, now it’s up to luck, really. Everything you can do when your finals arrive is to be calm and confident, then you’ll rock it!

These are some of my tips on how to survive this very stressful period. I hope I could help at least some of you! I definitely need some motivation sometimes, so I’m sure it always comes handy. Don’t stress and you’ll be fine! (I’ll try to think of this sentence, too when the time finally comes, because I’ll need it.) My advanced English oral exam is at the end of this week, I’m really nervous, but I’m being optimistic. Have a lovely day! See you soon! :)

Why Start A Planner

Hi! :)

I have always been one of those people who don’t understand what the purpose of a planner is. I had never used a planner until recently, because I thought I won’t ever forget anything important (I have a very good memory). Then, I ordered Louise Pentland’s Calendar type diary, called the Sprinkle of Glitter Diary 2016. I loved her first book, so I wanted to see what her diary was like. I started to fill it out with future events on the last week of December. I have been using it since then on a daily basis. It literally changed my life in such a positive way. I’ll tell you why and what the benefits of it are.

I feel like I have always been quite an organized person in the sense of keeping up with every date, event and deadline. However, a couple months ago I started to realize to forget about a lot more things than I used to, e.g. having a chapter test of English civilization. I know, it’s really bad. But having a planner helped me so much.

Having a planner helped me:

  • Stay more organized
  • Not miss important events and deadlines
  • Feeling less stressed
  • Look forward to plan my week
  • Be more productive
  • Not have an excuse to get away from jobs to do – if it’s written down, you’re more likely to complete a task you set yourself earlier.

These are some of the benefits I faced during the last couple of weeks of owning my own planner. Do you use a planner? Does it help you stay organized?
