Songs Of The Month – August

Hi! :)

I know I have been very inconsistent lately, but I recently moved to Denmark to start university here, so it has taken over my life to be honest. Everything is great so far though. :)

I haven’t done a ‘Songs Of The Month’ post in a while and I felt like sharing my favourites at the moment with you. So here they are! (They aren’t in any particular order, as usual.)

  1. Cool Girl – Tove Lo
  2. Season 2 Episode 3 – Glass Animals
  3. Tears – Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson
  4. We Don’t Talk Anymore – Charlie Puth feat. Selena Gomez
  5. Alive – Khai
  6. Sexual – NEIKED
  7. Worship – Years & Years
  8. Rise – Katy Perry
  9. Fake It – Bastille
  10. Cane Shuga – Glass Animals

I’m obsessing over the new Glass Animals album, ‘How To Be A Human Being’, which came out yesterday, so that’s why there are two songs on this list off of that album. Even though there could haven been more too, haha. I love it, you should check it out! It’s on Spotify and iTunes as well.

I’m in love with all of these songs on the list though, I can’t stop listening to them, seriously! What has been your fave song of August? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter (@justkingablog)! See you soon! :)

Summer Thoughts

Hi! :)

I know it has been ages since my last post, I’m so sorry! I have been crazy busy lately and to be honest, I haven’t really had that much inspiration as usual.

I went on holiday with my family for about two weeks, which was quite nice. I also have been planning moving out to another country next month, and I’m so nervous/excited about it. I’m still waiting for an accomodation offer though. I’ll have news of my application at the end of the week. :)

Since I haven’t done Songs Of The Month posts for a while, I thought I’d share some of my favourite songs at the minute. Here we go:

  • Tears by Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson
  • Good Grief by Bastille
  • Alive by Khai
  • Basically Kygo’s whole album
  • Kill Em With Kindness by Selena Gomez (my queen <3)
  • Life Itself by Glass Animals
  • (Starving by Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd, which I’ve only just listened to very recently but fell in love with)

I graduated as well (as you can probably tell by me rambling about university). As always, I watch Youtube videos daily – starting to get into some local ones, too. Another thing, I’ve read some good books this summer so far, currently I’m reading The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson (but haven’t got that far into it yet).

Finally, yes, I got into the Pokemon GO hype as well. I enjoy it a lot, especially because it gets me outside more. Now I’m not that lazy (haha).

That’s all for now, again, I’m sorry to have disappeared. Have a great day!

My Favourites Of The Eurovision Song Contest

Hi!:)

Since it’s Eurovision Song Content week right now, I thought I’d do a blog post on my favourite songs from it. ESC is a song contest in Europe and as of last year in Australia as well, where each country has a representative performer, and they compete for the best song of the year. The semi-finals are already over, and the final is on Saturday, which I’m very excited about.

My absolute favourites are Hungary and France this year, but I have heard some other nice songs as well. So here you go, here are the countries I’m rooting for this Saturday, and obviously these are not in any particular order.

  1. Hungary
  2. Cyprus
  3. The Netherlands
  4. UK
  5. France
  6. Azerbaijan
  7. Malta
  8. Israel
  9. Australia

But I also like Croatia, Latvia, Serbia, Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria and Belgium.

Which songs do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below! Have a great day! See you soon! :)

Songs Of The Month – March

Hi! :)

It’s SO crazy that April is already here! Final exams are just in a month, which I’m terrified of, but I’ll do great I decided. I have to have a lot more confidence, don’t I? Anyway, here I am with the songs I listened to the most throughout March. I love this list, because almost all tunes are by my favourite artists. I’m still getting used to Zayn’s new music, and some of MAX’s stuff I don’t really like (however, he is extremely talented), but the songs of theirs on the list I like a lot. iT’s YoU is probably my favourite song of ZAYN’s album, Mind Of Mine (which I did a blog post on), and I also caught myself getting back to the song called Lights Down Low by MAX, because I love its vibe. All the others in my top 10 belong to my favourite artists, so it’s not surprising that some of their tunes are on the list. Finally, here they are (not in any particular order, as usual).

  1. Breathe Life – Jack Garratt
  2. iT’s YoU – Zayn
  3. Soundcheck – Catfish and the Bottlemen
  4. Unsteady – X Ambassadors (Live on Seth Meyers)
  5. Work Song – Hozier
  6. The Sound – The 1975
  7. Fragile – Kygo & Labirinth
  8. Far Cry – Jack Garratt
  9. Lights Down Low – MAX
  10. Black Water Lilies – AURORA

What did you listen to the most in the month of March? I would love to know, it’s always nice to discover some new music. I want to wish you all a successful April, you’re gonna smash this month! See you soon! :)

Mind Of Mine – ZAYN (Album)

Hi! :)

As you all probably know, Zayn Malik quit One Direction a year ago. His first solo album was released on 25th March, and there was a huge hype around it. I thought it would be fun to tell you which songs I like the most from the album.

Zayn’s new music is definitely different from what he was involved in for years. I’m not sure if I am a fan of this style of music, but it’s not a bad album at all. I’m sure he will be pretty successful on his own (he already is to be honest), too, because his tunes are very likable and catchy. I enjoy listening to his music a lot though, especially to the songs that are my favourite. The release date is a bit ironic, because that’s the exact date of when he left the band last year. The album cover is a picture of him from his childhood plus some of his current tattoos edited on him. The capitalization of the song titles is very unique and kind of reminds me of Margo Roth Spiegelman‘s from Paper Towns. Here are the songs, my favourites being highlighted.

  1. MiNd Of MiNdd (Intro)
  2. PILLOWTALK
  3. iT’s YoU
  4. BeFoUr
  5. sHe
  6. dRuNk
  7. INTERMISSION: fLoWer
  8. rEaR vIeW
  9. wRoNg ft. Kehlani
  10. fOol fOr YoU
  11. BoRdErSz
  12. tRuTh
  13. lUcOzAdE
  14. TiO
  15. BLUE
  16. BRIGHT
  17. LIKE I WOULD
  18. SHE DON’T LOVE ME
  19. PILLOWTALK – the living room session
  20. PILLOWTALK REMIX ft. Lil Wayne and Jaegen

I feel like looking at my most preferred songs of the album, I’m leaning more towards the slower-paced songs, which usually isn’t like me. My absolute favourites are iT’s YoU and fOol fOr YoU, they both sound amazing and beautiful. Which song do you like the most from Mind Of Mine? Let me know in the comments below! You can listen to this album on Spotify or you can buy it on iTunes. See you soon! :)

All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend – AURORA (Album)

Hi! :)

I discovered AURORA a very long time ago and have been enjoying her music ever since. I was incredibly excited about her debut album coming out in March. In my opinion she is an artist who simply never makes a bad song. There is something unique in each and every song of hers. The whole All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend album feels magical and I love listening to it. There’s a mix of slower and more dinamic tunes on the album, which makes it even more interesting. She wrote some of these when she was very young, around about 12 years old even. She is one of my all-time favourite artists, and she never disappoints.

I thought I would share my most favourite songs of her album, however it wasn’t easy to not choose all the 17 songs as my most loved ones, haha. I will highlight the songs of the album I like the most.

  1. Runaway
  2. Conqueror
  3. Running With The Wolves
  4. Lucky
  5. Winter Bird
  6. I Went Too Far
  7. Through The Eyes Of A Child
  8. Warrior
  9. Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)
  10. Home
  11. Under The Water
  12. Black Water Lilies
  13. Half The World Away
  14. Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) (Acoustic)
  15. Nature Boy (Acoustic)
  16. Wisdom Cries
  17. Running With The Wolves (Pablo Nouvelle Remix)

Runaway was the first song I heard of hers and has stuck with me ever since. She wrote it at a very young age, which astonishes me – that she created something so beautiful being so young and innocent.

Conqueror is one of the quicker-paced songs of the album. I love the strength of it, I always feel so powerful after listening to it.

Winter Bird is one that I often catch myself singing. The lyrics are beautiful.

Warrior is another poweful song, and I especially love the rhythm of this tune, it’s very catchy.

Black Water Lilies is my absolute favourite at the moment. It is pure magic. You just have to listen to it, it feels angelic.

Half The World Away is an Oasis cover, which was written for the John Lewis Christmas commercial. I listened to this song hundreds of times and could not get enough of it. I think she did justice for the original song.

Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) sounded a lot better to me when it was performed acoustically. The message and the emotions of the song can be heard a lot clearer in the acoustic version, I think.

Here it is, my opinion of the AURORA’s first album! I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I did writing it! You can listen to All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend on Spotify or you can buy it on iTunes. I think you should definitely check out AURORA’s music, it’s worth it and you won’t be disappointed, I promise. Let me know in the comments below what your thoughts are on her album and what your favourite songs are from it in the comments below or on Twitter! See you soon! :)

Songs Of The Month – February

Hi! :)

There’s less than a week left of February, so I’m here with the list of songs I listened to the most this month. February was the time when I really got into the band X Ambassadors and I’m so glad I did! I heard some of their songs before in commercials, but I never knew those were theirs, so I was very surprised to hear those familiar songs again – now knowing they created them. One song in paricular, called Gorgeous became my absolute favourite this month, especially the Upstate Sessions version. I also started to listen to Lose It by Oh Wonder again after them releasing a music video for it recently. As I did a presentation of the movie Paper Towns earlier this month, I was jamming to the whole movie soundtrack for hours (and I love all the tunes on it). Lost It To Trying gives a magical feeling and that’s why I like it so much. I included two Hungarian Eurovision songs competing this year (results will be out tomorrow). The two that I’m rooting for are the songs by Freddie and Petruska. I really hope one of them wins and gets to represent Hungary in the Eurovision. Check those songs out, I think they’re amazing! Here’s the list, but as usual, the songs are not in any particular order.

  1. We Don’t Talk Anymore – Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez
  2. Lose It – Oh Wonder
  3. Renegades – X Ambassadors
  4. Gorgeous – X Ambassadors (Upstate Sessions)
  5. Lost It To Trying – Son Lux
  6. Unsteady – X Ambassadors
  7. Ready For You – Years & Years (Acoustic)
  8. Pioneer – Freddie
  9. Trouble In My Mind – Petruska
  10. Stressed Out – twenty one pilots

What are some of your favourite songs of February? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me, I’d love to know! Have a lovely day! See you soon! :)
